Hi friends-
I’ve recovered from my second bout of Covid (yay!) so we will do our Saturday zoom creativity power hour like usual. I’ve seen a lot of new sign-ups this week so let me explain what this is. Basically, paying subscribers have access to zoom with me and others each week for an hour of uninterrupted creativity. Think of it like a group exercise class, with other strangers holding you accountable. You don’t have to turn your camera on. You can work on whatever you like: paint, draw, color, de-clutter a desk drawer, write, sort clothes to give to goodwill, turn off your phone and listen to an album of your favorite music all the way through, sit in silent meditation, etc. This is an hour just for you, without TV or Internet or any other human sucking your attention away.
If you wanna join but you don’t know what to do during the hour, here is a prompt from Julia Cameron’s seminal book, The Artist’s Way:
List twenty things you enjoy doing (rock climbing, roller skating, baking pies, making soup, riding a bike, riding a horse, playing catch, shooting baskets, going for a run, reading poetry, and so forth). When was the last time you let yourself do these things? Next to each entry, place a date. Don’t be surprised it’s been years for some of your favorites.
We will spend the last 10 minutes of our zoom encouraging each other and discussing common issues people may have surrounding creativity.
If you are already a paid subscriber, the link to the zoom will be visible below the fold. If you are not yet a paid subscriber but would to become one, you can do so here:
