Happy birthday, my birthday twin!! So glad to see you emerge better and stronger. Where would we be without your stellar writing and observations. And... go Dodgers! 💙

Nuggets is SO cute! And you are being so wonderful for seeing and caring that he was abandoned/lost and the taking him home to foster - really really really kind of you, Molly

And happy birthday!

About the Mariners, so much to say - maybe later in the game chat (free-falling Giants... can anyone locate a parachute?)

Venezuelan ballplayers are the best 🙏🏻

“You’re going to be seeing me in your inbox almost every day for the next six weeks, until we have a World Series champion.” Not bad. Not bad at all. Happiest of birthdays to you, my friend (I can say that, right? I can though we’ve never met in person??), and I wish you nothing but happiness in the year to come.

Happy birthday! This is my mother's birthday, and she's not with us. But she hated being celebrated, and I used to hate it. Now my attitude is, I'll take what you're giving away to me!

Nugget is adorable.

Glad to know someone else was chopping onions during the Dodger game.

The AL West doesn't compare with the 1945 World Series, the last where many of the best players were away at war, and the Tigers played the Cubs. Someone asked an old Chicago sportswriter, Warren Brown, for his prediction. He said, "I don't think either team can win it."

I stopped reading the baseball section of your post - I’ll go back to it - but first had to say not just a ‘happy birthday’, but thank you for all you share with us about what you’ve gone through and what you are looking ahead to. All love back to you, and know that we LOOK FORWARD to seeing you in our in-box! You are part of a shared community.

I totally get it about the depression thing...I had an unfortunate series of events from the age of 18 months or so, with a gap for a few years from 4-11, until I was in my early 20s...it took a little while to get past that stuff :-)

I've been dealing with mental illness my whole life. Most recently, I was also diagnosed with both autism and PTSD. What I'm trying to say is that growing up sucked, and despite the world being a dumpster fire these days, I'm much happier now in my 40s than I was as a child or adolescent. Of course, therapy and being on the right medications has been huge in that.

Happy birthday! I promise, no song!

As a (sort of) Texan (I've put in 40 years so I think I'm naturalized, even though I can't shed my nasal Midwestern accent), and specifically, a resident of Tarrant County ("Rangerville"), I wonder how anyone can tell if the Rangers are the best, worst, or "mid" of the three.

They go to Toronto and sweep a huge four game series. Full of confidence, they travel to Cleveland and get swept (fortunately, they only played the Guardians three times). Onto Boston, they lose their first game (thanks to a blown save) and then rebound to take the series by outscoring the Red Sox 21-9 in the final two games. As an exasperated Butch asked Sundance, "Who are these guys?"

Best wishes for a happy birthday and a happy year! One of our granddaughters turned 13 today, and she was excited about the plans for her birthday. Becoming a teenager is a big moment for her, and we are grateful to share in it.

Happy Birthday! Weird question; am I the only one who always reads “Happy Birthday” like Frosty the Snowman in that weird cartoon from when I was a kid?

Anyway, thank you for fostering dogs. We can’t do that in our house because we already have three rescues and we would absolutely end up keeping every dog we fostered.

Happy birthday!!!! Do we think the Dodgers can sign Brusdar's mom to the play-off roster somehow? That's the best first pitch I've seen in ages.
