Happy New Year! Take 20% off The Long Game
And other updates on The Artist's Way Course, MLB chats, etc
Hi friends-
If 2022 was a rough one for you, I have good news: 2023 is here! Let’s ride this wave of, uh, *nothing terrible has happened yet* for as long as we can!
First, some housekeeping. I’ve heard from 25 of you who would like to take the Artist’s Way course. If you have *not* received a personal reply from me confirming your spot in the course, please email me (again) and let me know so I can add you to the class roster. As a reminder, it’s a 13-week course on creativity meeting every Monday from Jan. 9 until March 27. (No Monday night football conflicts, and it will take us right up to the baseball season).
Again, if you want to join us in this course, all you have to do is be a paid subscriber and then email me. If you can’t make it every week, don’t worry. Don’t use that as an excuse not to sign up! This is not a punitive course. It is gentle and encouraging and you never have to talk on the Zoom if you don’t want to. The goal is to come together to support each other on whatever we are working on. Maybe something someone says will unlock something for you? We have a handful of folks who enjoyed the course we did last summer and fall that they have signed up again. I myself have read the book seven times and get something new out of it each time.
Secondly, to kick off the new year, I’m offering a 20% discount to paid subscriptions to The Long Game. A one-year sub is now $40 instead of $50. And if you wanna pay by the month, it’s $4.80/month instead of $6. You can get this deal below for the next seven days. I only do this a few times a year, so if you’ve been on the fence about becoming a paid subscriber, it’s best to do it now!
As a reminder, the paid list gets access to all my stories, creativity Zooms, comment posting privileges, and our Sunday Night and playoff baseball live chats, which many people wrote me to tell me was their favorite part of The Long Game last year. This warms my heart because I am really trying to build a community of respectful sports fans where everyone feels welcome. I’ve become so increasingly burnt out on the psychotic tenor of Twitter, but I really like talking with smart and kind people online, so I think this is the answer (at least for now).
One reader had a brilliant idea to start some live chats during spring training so we can talk about all the new MLB rules together, which I love, so expect some more discussions when spring training games begin.
Coming in January, I’ll be writing breakdowns of each of the MLB divisions, and how each team got better (or worse). I’ll also continue writing about the Dodgers (who got worse).
Ok! So:
Let me know who still wants in on the Artist’s Way course
Take advantage of the paid subscription deal
Get excited about 2023 while it’s still perfect, two days in.
Thank you so much, again, for subscribing to The Long Game. If you share this post on social media, adding a link would help me tremendously. My Twitter is here. You can also follow me on Instagram here. I have a Facebook, but please don’t write me there, because I log on once a year. The best way to reach me directly is by responding to my newsletter emails, as I don’t often check my Twitter mentions because I am a woman in sports.
