Thank you for sharing. I have suffered from depression and anxiety for 30+ years. It was only this year that I finally sought help and was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. It's amazing but the diagnosis alone seemed to provide relief as many of my issues were finally explained. I have since begun taking anti-depressant and anti-anxiety medications that thus far are proving to help. I have not yet taken the step to try CBT but it is at least on my radar. I don't believe I would have taken these steps if not for reading many first person accounts, such as yours, over the past few years. It is so important for these stories to be told.

Attack people online then play the mental health card for sympathy. Good stuff!

This post is fantastic, as is the previous one regarding the same topic. Thanks Molly! I'll add that my partner suffers from a version of bpd/anxiety, and my taking a "Friends and Family DBT" course was useful for me and for both of us. (They attended regular DBT classes and now have also found a great medication for their illness, and they're doing very very well.)

Big thanks to you, Molly! This is so valuable, and absolutely worth it if it helps some people take the steps that they need.

Just subscribed (via recommendation from JoeBlogs) and going through your old posts.

This is incredibly brave for you to share. I love that your recommendations are not cliche, they are real; using your own personal stories really sends the point home.

I agree, “The Body Keeps the Score” is an AMAZING book! A bit wordy with the medical-speak in the beginning, but still such a great book, whether you have yourself in mind, or someone you know.

I look forward to reading more of your posts!
