I will add you and your friends to my prayer list. I’m so sorry to see so much devastation and heartbreak take place in my beloved Los Angeles and surrounding cities.

The experiences you share are NOTHING to be ashamed of or embarrassed about. I doubt anyone feels anything but sympathy for what you and your friends and neighbors in Los Angeles have had to endure concerning the recent fires. I hope this brings your community closer. Take care!!!

Thanks for all you’re doing, Molly. It’s hard not to feel guilty over our friends and neighbors whose lives have been upended or destroyed. The emotional load for the helpers is heavy, too. But I have never been prouder to be an Angeleno (albeit one county removed now).

And you are so right about knowing what to grab on your way out the door. A couple of smaller fires were near enough to us that we went through the whole exercise of gathering things together, with the luxury of more than minutes to decide. I now have a note on my phone with a list of what to take in descending order of priority. May it only ever be an exercise.

Sending love - take good care.
