Minor audio issues aside, this was a great watch and a nice morning surprise! Thank you as ever for not kowtowing to pressures to "stick to sports" or whatever, Molly. For one thing, the idea that sports exist in a vacuum is absurd anyway, but your nuance and insight is incredibly valuable.
Thanks so much Molly! I have been so upset by this entire situation and the lack of a coherent response from the Dodgers. Your take on the whole situation is spot on as usual! Please don’t ever just “stick to sports” your insights are invaluable! 🩷
I LOVED that this ‘interview’(conversation) was posted: I appreciate the writing of Joe Pos and others on baseball as well as Molly’s, but this one was special: the ‘roundedness’ of her take on things - including things beyond ‘baseball’ itself - is one of the things I really value about her postings. I much appreciate the insight into the ‘events’ at Dodger stadium; as a far-to-the-East (coaster), much of what she referred to was outside my frame, so extra-appreciate the details she filled in along with the willingness to speak candidly about what was going on in LA and the impact on the community there. That, along with the look at what happened with the game with the Padres and Ohtani, made this a special high point for a re-devoted subscriber.
Thank you so much for sharing this, for speaking up and out, and for your continued expansive yet also nuanced perspectives. It was so cool to see your name on one of the posts that the excellent Rebecca Solnit shared recently: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1919T6h7mj/. I appreciate you in this world so much!
Rebecca Solnit is the bomb, by the way. She is sooooo lucid in her penetrating analysis of so much, over a number of years now.
And of course, in the little post you cited wherein she channeled the unofficial initial Poet Laureate of America, the luminous Emma Lazarus, what more need be said?!?
Greetings to All you Knight Crewers on this penultimate Friday in June!
I too enjoyed the real (as opposed to the Real, which was Franco's team so f*** them) M. Madrid chatting with the oh-so-real M. Knight.
Speaking of soccer teams, I concur with Justice Paris (Joe) St. Germain on delivering the wolfsbane, garlic, and shiv to the heart last rites to the notion that sports exist in a vacuum, and to the Blonde Mata Hari's (Laura Ingraham) racist and recondite statement, "shut up and dribble"
If I may indulge just a moment, I was a proud participant last Saturday in the soles (souls too) to the street march/protest against the Despicable Don/Canine Killer Kristi led ICE aggression. I must say that while the anger at the aforementioned was most present, far more present was the affirmative support of our brothers and sisters, our friends and neighbors who are in the cross-hairs of this most cowardly Administration simply because they have brown skin and/or vowels ending their surnames. The empathy, solidarity and love expressed was most palpable, and most moving.
Hi Molly, I cam to be aware of you through Joe Posnanski. While I am not a dodgers fan, I have enjoyed your writing. In this time of turmoil, I am very happy to see you speaking out with your strong voice.
thank you so much for this, Molly - masked men kidnapping people off the streets, disappearing them to foreign gulags (and I really appreciate the comments of everyone here)… the terrifying reality of America under Trump and his mafia, and we are only six months into this regime - something has to break, and soon, or God help us all
Thank you for this really thoughtful conversation. Since the WH visit I was worried about the Dodgers not doing what was morally right because it seems to be the opposite of their values. I was so glad to hear you vocalize what has been upsetting me. But also glad to be reminded of the real life safety implications for their employees and community they are trying to help if they do.

Thank you for diving into this topic with insight and thoughtfulness, Molly and Mike.
Great interview!

Amen to that, Jack. And now a prelude to yet another Mideast war against a country that did nothing to us.
Ghastly barely begins to describe it
Sorry to be kinda pedantic, but said country has done things against us. But otherwise concur...
