Great stuff. Are you also going to Graceland? Crazy on Kenley pitching to father and son. Lol on Fantatics timing and ref picture. Always good to have some laughs.

I was surprised to see the O’s gave Jackson Holliday number 7. That was Cal Ripken Sr’s number. Apparently the O’s cleared it with former #8, Cal Jr., and got his blessing, before doing so. Cal Jr took it as an homage to his dad. Nice touch by the O’s.

You picked the wrong Jackson for ROY, Molly. It's my guy Chourio all the way!

Standalone *The Last Boy* appreciation post. That book was so good. Amazing, funny, heartbreaking... well, great, now I feel like I'm doing a callback to Wayne's World ("I laughed, I cried, I hurled"), haha. Seriously, I've recommended it to many people. I own it too, of course. Leavy is great.

Have you read *Squeeze Play*? I haven't but I've heard it's really good and I would like to. Anybody who sees my dumb little comment who has read it, please let me know your thoughts (with if necessary minimum - but not necessarily "no" - spoilers, please - stuff that would be on the inside jacket is fine).

I have also been wondering about how much of Ohtani’s reserve is due to Shohei and how much to Ippei. But I doubt that it’s all down to Ippei’s manipulation. Shohei could’ve noticed that he hadn’t done an interview about the injury, for months, and he could’ve forced Ippei to do it with him. However much influence Ippei had over Shohei, Shohei holds a lot of power over the relationship.

Loved the song reference, Molly. Yet I had forgotten about the Nancy Sinatra/Johnny Cash "Going to Jackson" song, and was thinking about the "Jackson" song by the magnificent Lucinda Williams.

Great post, multiple reasons: first, an excellent perspective of the Ohtani/Mizuhara fiasco, esp for those of us on the east coast where the papers aren't as full of news/words about this as presumably they are on your coast. Secondly, loved the Kenley Jansen/ Hollidays' "tidbit"! Also, the understatement of the year "Boy, could the (Red Sox) use Mookie Betts and Xander...'". The loss of Trevor Story has really started a spiral.

Oh: and none of us missed not having Curt The Jerk at the Sox opener Reunion!
